This post is a quick explanation of why it does NOT affect any of our clients.

First, a quick summary of what the Heartbleed Bug is. The following is taken from heartbleed.com:

The Heartbleed Bug is a serious vulnerability in the popular OpenSSL cryptographic software library. This weakness allows stealing the information protected, under normal conditions, by the SSL/TLS encryption used to secure the Internet. SSL/TLS provides communication security and privacy over the Internet for applications such as web, email, instant messaging (IM) and some virtual private networks (VPNs).

The Heartbleed bug allows anyone on the Internet to read the memory of the systems protected by the vulnerable versions of the OpenSSL software. This compromises the secret keys used to identify the service providers and to encrypt the traffic, the names and passwords of the users and the actual content. This allows attackers to eavesdrop on communications, steal data directly from the services and users and to impersonate services and users.

Sound scary? Well it is. The panic is fully justified because it potentially exposes confidential, sensitive information to the most inexperienced of hackers. This is of particular concern to e-commerce sites.

I am happy to announce, however, that none of the websites that we host for clients are vulnerable to this bug. Our servers are Microsoft Windows based, and Windows servers run their own proprietary SSL stack. As a result, we do not install or run the software involved in the Heartbleed Bug.

We are available to answer any further questions or concerns you might have regarding this topic. Feel free to contact us via your dashboard or by phone at any time.

The first step in this process was to remove all references to our previous CMS, which was called K2 CMS, and rename everything to Cyber Publisher. This part of the process has been completed.

We are now working on bringing the documentation in line with our new naming conventions. One major change in Cyber Publisher is that Controls are now known as Widgets. We made this change because the definition of Widget more accurately reflects what Widgets are used for in Cyber Publisher.

We will continue to improve the documentation on this site as Cyber Publisher evolves. Please feel free to send us suggestions, comments, documentation requests etc. via the feedback form on your administrator dashboard. We are always listening, and will attempt to incorporate your ideas whenever possible.
http://www.cyberpublisher.com/blog/cyber-publisher-updates-for-8-13-13Cyber Publisher Updates for 8/13/132013-08-13T13:00:00Z2013-08-14T13:10:33Zjohn@cybertechnical.comjohn@cybertechnical.com
We pushed out a small set of updates today for users of Cyber Publisher.

File Manager Improvements

The advanced image upload feature will now retain the original file type, rather than converting every image to a JPG. This has numerous benefits, one being that transparencies can be retained when resizing a PNG or GIF. We have also optimized the file/directory grid and added a dedicated download button.

URL Redirects

URL redirects have been enhanced to support individual file redirects and more complex URL patterns.

Performance Improvements

We have improved performance in widget page load times, file manager browsing and blog module load times.

K2 Users

The updates listed above have already been distributed to users of Cyber Publisher. Updates are available to K2 users by request. Upgrades will be performed on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be free for the vast majority of our clients. Please contact us to schedule your upgrade.
http://www.cyberpublisher.com/blog/cyber-publisher-upgrades-are-now-availableCyber Publisher Upgrades Are Now Available2013-07-19T09:40:15Z2013-07-19T13:44:03Zjohn@cybertechnical.comjohn@cybertechnical.com
We are happy to announce that upgrades to Cyber Publisher are now available for clients running our older K2 CMS. Cyber Publisher is not only a name change, but also a major version upgrade, and it contains features such as:

A number of changes are in store, and today we are making announcements regarding upcoming changes to the product.

Rebranding

We are happy to announce that K2 CMS is becoming Cyber Publisher. Although the name K2 represents one of the mightiest mountains in the world, we realize that the name holds little sematic value when it comes to describing our CMS. Over the next few months, we will be rolling out the new brand, beginning with changing the k2cms.com website to cyberpublisher.com. When we do so, all links to k2cms.com will be permanently redirected to the new site, so the transition will be seamless for our users.

Cyber Publisher

The second part of the transition will be migrating K2 clients to Cyber Publisher. Cyber Publisher is not only a name change, but also a major version upgrade, and it will contain features such as:

A revamped admin interface.

The ability to create page redirects.

Major file manager enhancements.

Naming convention simplifications.

Better performance.

Image list enhancements.

Many of the new features in Cyber Publisher are the direct result of customer feedback. Our training classes have proven to be a great forum for suggestions and ideas, and we are incorporating your input in every way that we can.

The best part of all? The new version will be a free upgrade for all clients that are running K2.

We plan to have a preview available soon for training class attendees, so we hope to see you all there.
http://www.cyberpublisher.com/blog/2013-training-class-dates2013 Training Class Dates2013-02-13T18:28:00Z2013-02-13T18:42:05Zjohn@cybertechnical.comjohn@cybertechnical.com
Training class dates have been scheduled for 2013.
We have recently published articles on topics such as adding and editing users, adding and editing content, securing content pages, using the contact form control, using the code literal control and more.

Please refer to the documentation table of contents to find links to all of these articles and more.
http://www.cyberpublisher.com/blog/embedding-a-youtube-videoEmbedding a YouTube Video2012-07-12T19:50:00Z2014-01-24T21:36:26Zjohn@cybertechnical.comjohn@cybertechnical.com
One of the questions we are often asked is, "How do I add a YouTube video to my site?" This is actually very easy to do in Cyber Publisher.

The first thing to do is create a Content Page and add a Code Literal Widget to a content zone (main content, sidebar).

Next, go to YouTube and find the video that you would like to post. Click the Share button underneath the video, and then click the Embed button. Underneath the video, the screen should look similar to the following:

Select the size that you would like to use and copy all of the code in the text box (the box that starts with <iframe).

Now go back to your new content page, and paste the code you copied from YouTube into the Code Literal Widget.

Finally, save the page and view it on your site. The YouTube video is now playable on your page.
